AREA STUDENTS REVIEW
The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged)

Thank you for your generous spirit and for giving my students the opportunity to see The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged). Youll see from their letters what an incredible impact the play had on each student. While it wasnt As You Like It, it was a fabulous introduction to Shakespeare. The effect of this experience has made our views on Shakespeare more zany and enjoyable.

The Complete Works of Shakespeare, Abridged is the single funniest show I have ever seen. I love how you managed to blend classic drama with current comedy in a seamless and hilarious way. The jobs jabs at everyone from Jessica Simpson to No Doubt were amazing the first time, but backwards were nothing short of gut busting.

-Timothy J. Hughes, Montgomery School, 8th Grade, Chester Springs

PS But Love

Thank you so much for letting me come see your play of Shakespeare: Abridged. I had been expecting a very boring reenactment of Shakespeares works, but instead it was a funny, different-than-usual type of approach. You made Shakespeare seem like a modern-day comedy and not something written hundreds of years ago. I especially liked the part where Rome started calling Juliet But Love. Thank you again for the great experience.

-Matt V., Montgomery School, 8th Grade, Chester Springs

I really enjoyed seeing The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged. I expected it to be boring, but I was laughing out loud. I especially liked the backwards version of Hamlet. Thank you so much for letting us come.

-Ben Trachtman, Montgomery School, 8th Grade, Chester Springs, April 14, 2004

I really enjoyed The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged a lot. It was very funny and really not what I expected. When we got there I was expecting dry and historically perfect play, but then, I noticed the sneakers. It was a great experience and I think you learn more while having fun. Though the collection of comedies was slightly confusing but funny anyway. My favorite things were the rap about Othello or Hamlet played backwards. That show added to my collection of Shakespeare spoofs (Ive already seen Mac Homer the Simpsons do Macbeth) and this was great. I hope to see it again.

-Ramson Cozzillbo, Montgomery School, 8th Grade, Chester Springs

Thank you for the Performance of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged. I was expecting it to be a boring play with Old English language, but it was quite the opposite. Instead it was hilarious and the scenes were unpredictable. I cant believe you guys came up with such a hilarious play. It was very realistic, because you would talk usually, as if you didnt just memorize the words.

-Daniel Ross, Montgomery School, 8th Grade, Chester Springs

I very much enjoyed your performance of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged. I dont think there was a moment my friends and I werent laughing. My favorite part was when you did Hamlet fast, faster, backward, and then backward faster. Thank you.

-David Wilson, Montgomery School, 8th Grade, Chester Springs

Thank you for letting us come to see your play of the Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. The actors made sure the audience was involved with the play and I loved the costume choice for the actors (Juliets costume was especially funny). I find it amazing that the play was performed so well with only three actors.

-Matt Mayer, Montgomery School, 8th Grade, Chester Springs

I really enjoyed the Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged. It was hilarious. It was the best and funniest show I have seen. You kept me interested the whole time. I was laughing so hard my chair was squeaking. My favorite scene was the Romeo and Juliet scene. Thank you so much.

-Danyelle Lishon, Montgomery School, 8th Grade, Chester Springs

You brought a new definition to Shakespeare for teenagers my age. Most see it as a boring part of school, but there were probably many kids in the audience who had been introduced to a more enjoyable and funny form of Shakespeare literature. I think everyone left with a better liking for Shakespeare. I love how the actors used the events of today to connect and relate with the audience. (Esp. the part about the Super Bowl!) My favorite part was when I got to go up on stage and play Ophelia J because its my favorite play. Thank you again! I shall return!

-Gabrielle Vitollo, Montgomery School, 8th Grade, Chester Springs

PS- But love!

Thank you so much for letting us come to the play, it was amazing and well performed. My favorite scenes were when all the comedies were out together- it was terribly funny. The entire play was humorous and I loved the acting. Thank you again, suddenly Shakespeare seems so much more interesting.

-Rachel Hobbs, Montgomery School, 8th Grade, Chester Springs

Thank you so much for putting on a great show. It was amusing and it brought a more humorous side of Shakespeare out. I especially liked the Romeo and Juliet scene. Thank you for welcoming us and making me laugh harder than I have in a long time.

-Kimmie Binning, Montgomery School, 8th Grade, Chester Springs

When my English told me our class was going to see a Shakespeare play, I feared the worst. I thought it was going to be another boring reading of Shakespeare. As soon as the show started, I knew I was wrong. Throughout the entire show I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. It was phenomenal. My favorite part was the Romeo and Juliet scene. Thank you so much for putting on a wonderful show.

-Sydney Kaiserman, Montgomery School, 8th Grade, Chester Springs
