Teacher Programs
It is not enough to work exclusively with students; it is equally important to offer learning opportunities for local teachers. Therefore, in addition to the resources, study guides, text charts and training in performance-teaching methods that The Open Door Project provides, we also host workshops for area teachers. Each year, we participate in local educational conferences such as the School District of Philadelphia’s professional development days and the Philadelphia Arts in Education Partnership's (PAEP) professional development workshop, Integrating the Arts: Building Literacy Across the Curriculum. In 2006 and 2007, The Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival partnered with the Folger Shakespeare Library to offer a daylong Shakespeare Set Free Workshop for area teachers. Check back soon for information on our 2008 workshops.
