On March 20, 2008, The Festival hosted it's Annual Gala at The
Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia! This fabulous event featured a delicious
meal based on Ancient Greek recipes, music from the upcoming production
of
Pericles and a special talk from Francine Segan, food historian and author of
The Philosopher's Kitchen. The four course meal featured recipes from
The Philosopher's Kitchen and included lamb skewers with mint marmalade, Lemony celery and leek puree, and a delectable Hazel-walnut honey custard. We were joined by nearly 100 guests and the evening was hosted by Artistic/Executive Director Carmen Khan and Gala Chair Barbara Greenfield.
Proceeds
from the event benefited The Open Door Project, an arts education
program promoting literacy and understanding through Shakespeare.
