Artists-in-Residence Program

Our Artist-in-Residence program invites students to study Shakespeare through performance. Our Teaching Artists (professional theatre artists with extensive teaching experience) collaborate with the classroom teacher to lead students in hands-on activities that address both the literary and performative aspects of the plays.

Because it is our belief that every student deserves the opportunity to encounter and experience Shakespeare on the page and the stage, we offer many residencies free of charge or at a nominal fee. Residencies include several components:

* Multiple visits from Teaching Artists
* Lesson plans for Classroom Teachers
* Text Chart of the play, (an easy to follow blue print of the complex nature of a play)
* Professional development hours for teachers

Some of the schools that have taken advantage of the residency program include:

* Archbishop Ryan High School
* Elkins Park Middle School
* Nueva Esperanza Academy Charter High School
* Farrell Elementary School
* Franklin Learning Center
* Germantown High School
* Greenfield Elementary School
* Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School
* Lower Cape May Regional High School
* Northeast High School
